About SIAM
The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) aims to advance the application of mathematics and computational science to engineering, industry, science, and society.

About the Chapter
The SIAM student chapter at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was created in the fall of 2006, is supported by the SIAM parent organization, and is a registered student organization at UIUC.

Spring Semester 2009

CSE Annual Symposium

Our SIAM Chapter will be co-sponsoring a CSE Annual Symposium keynote by Gilbert Strang on Wednesday April 22, from 9:00-10:00 in Digital Computing Laboratory, room 2240. More info

UIUC SIAM Student Chapter Colloquia

The colloquia are usually held on Mondays at 11am in Siebel Center 4405 but this is dependent on the availability of the speakers. So far, we have the following colloquium scheduled.

PETSc Tutorial

Our SIAM Chapter will be co-sponsoring a PETSc tutorial on Thursday January 29, tentatively from 10:45-12:45 in Siebel Center 3405. The tutorial will be given by Barry Smith from Argonne National Laboratory. More info
