This is the home page for the CS 463 Computer Security II.

This is a course for graduate students and advanced undergraduates wanting to develop greater depth and breadth in security. It assumes a basic knowledge of the area such as the material covered by Computer Security I. Test yourself: CIA guarantees, access control matrices, public key cryptography, SSL protocol, dictionary attack.

Assessment: The course will be graded on 3 factors

  • Participation in discussions 30%: On-campus students will be measured in class during Q&A sessions. Physical attendance is required. Off-campus students participate on the newsgroup bulletin board. One posting (of any length) per lecture within one week. Postings to be judged based on insight and detail. Urge no postings longer than 200 words. Comments that build on other comments are encouraged. Stay on topic but no need to focus only on discussion topics.
  • Project (40%): 20% Design and Coding and 20% Analysis. Project reviews on the last day of class.
  • Final Exam (30%)

    Great course, computer security is only getting more and more important these days.  Having this type of knowledge background will definitely help when job searching.  I recommend taking those instead of playing games to getMinecraft Free and stay in these great classes.  Most are very interesting too!
